I mean, I m Portuguese, so I m extremely biased here Potato and collards soup may not sound terribly exciting to you, but just the idea of caldo verde warms me up and makes me hungry Honestly, a lot of the dishes here are extremely simple, to the point where you might wonder what the big deal is from just reading the recipes It s all in the technique and the freshness of the ingredients When you have excellent olive oil, paprika, and garlic, I m not sure you need much else.But again, I m super b [...]

Attractive book with interesting information about the author and Portuguese food traditions Many recipes are not particularly difficult though many are distinctly unique for those not familiar with Portuguese cuisine which uses lots of unusual fish and fatty cuts of meat Some recipes are very difficult.

I wasn t crazy about this book I thought the recipes would be refreshing and new, but most of the recipes I was familiar with and his stories were yawn I wasn t impressed with this cookbook I read a review in AFAR magazine but the writer of that article mislead this reader and lover of cookbooks.
