    1. This book is one that is almost difficult for me to describe The content of this book was very dense I very much appreciate the depth of culture it held at times I was unsure of exactly what was going on in the plot This book is a work of fiction that exists within the Chernobyl disaster in Pripyat Ukrain I was very much looking forward to reading this book as I always enjoy stepping outside my own circle of understanding and attempting to increase my breadth of intellect I went into this story [...]

    2. This novella is certainly very unique and makes an interesting curio I really liked its setting and the way that it combined the tragedy of Chernobyl with creatures from Ukrainian folklore The tone and style of the ending reminded me somewhat of Silent Hill in its use of symbolism While it never really focuses on the disaster, its lasting effect is felt through the damage that it has done to the balance of the forest While I did initially mistake the vague plotting for weak writing, I realised o [...]

    3. I loved this book City of Roses breathes new and magical life to the Chernobyl disaster in Pripyat, Ukraine in an intimate, truly satisfying way Donovan Pruitt builds a beautiful love story with unique and whimsical creatures from Ukrainian folklore that will keep you engaged until its heart pounding conclusion I suggest you have a box of tissues with you just in case, I know I shed a tear or two I m not even ashamed, very few stories can evoke this type of emotion from me so I count Pruitt as a [...]

I received this ARC for a honest review This is a first read for me by this Author I started this book and couldn t quite seem to get into it but by the half way point, I was hooked This read was lovely Such emotion and turmoil dealing with the Chernobyl disaster in Pripyat, Ukraine This was not only a learning experience for me but also I true tale of Love.Great writing and the story line was fantastic Each character brought so much into this story My favorite was the woodsman Very Fierce

    5. An interesting story, somewhat difficult hard to understand at times Story based on the Chernobyl disaster in Pripyat Ukraine It includes a ghostly village, folkloric creatures certainly love It never really talks about the Chernobyl happening, but you can tell how it left the earth around it Characters are interesting, but you keep wondering about what is happening.

    6. 3.5 starsI was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.I was really excited to get City of Roses to read, however when I got into the story I found that this was not my type of book I also soon found out that this particular book was kinda hard for me to read because of certain aspects of how the story line flows I stayed pretty confused with the entire book I am not sure if that was a planned part of the story experience [...]

    8. I requested an e ARC via Xpresso Book Tours for a review in exchange of a review OK this book is 125 pages long but I could not make it to the end I stopped on page 81.I could not take it any I did not like it, nothing interesting was happening, the characters were plain and boring When I read a book I like to feel something for the characters but I did not care for Alex or Elena I was also completely lost with the story , I had not idea what was going on.
