    1. I received this on a read to review basis from NetGalley Thank you to the author, Rich Newman, and the publisher, Llewellyn Publications, for the opportunity. As the title so aptly suggests, this is the non fictional account of 300 of America s creepiest and most haunted bridges Whilst certainly interesting and educational, this did not give me the thrill factor I was anticipating I believed this would give a greater account of the bridge s haunting backstories and delve into what exactly made e [...]

    2. I received a copy of this title from the publisher via Netgalley.Ten Second Synopsis Apparently, ghosts love bridges This handy tome gives an exhaustive run down on the paranormal stories and phenomena associated with specific bridges across the US.This is a concise and well formatted collection that neatly summarises social oral histories of the paranormal in localities across the US I will admit to being unaware of the apparently strong link between paranormal sightings and bridges, but this b [...]

    3. I received an e ARC of this book through NetGalley and Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd.I have to admit that I was curious I saw this title offered on NetGalley and wanted to see how a book covering 300 of America s creepiest bridges would be presented and whether it would pique my interest to go have a look The layout of the book is very simple each chapter puts the focus on a specific type of haunting then arranges the bridges alphabetically by state with a brief synopsis of the type of paranormal act [...]

    4. Not to say that having a book be exactly what its title implies is a bad thing, but I guess I was hoping for a little history on each of the bridges and the purported hauntings at each location Instead, there is only a very basic account of each one, about the geography of the bridge than the actual hauntings in some cases The writing was straight to the point and didn t waste an words I wanted this to be terrifying, and instead it was informational It would be interesting to visit each of th [...]

    5. This book was reviewed for Llewellyn Worldwide via Netgalley From suicide bridges to phantom hitchhikers, Rich Newman s Haunted Bridges collects together hundreds of spooky crossings from all over the United States Each chapter focuses on specific characteristics related to the hauntings Chapter One relates tales of hauntings believed to have been caused by hanging lynching, such as Poinsett Bridge in South Carolina Not only does this bridge have lynching associated with it, but it s also said t [...]

    6. I know so many people that will just eat this book up The author mentions at the beginning that he realizes that many ghost stories are the same, so he prefaces the book with the idea that many of these stories are also going to be the same A few stand out, but mainly because of stories that I have heard in my state, or when visiting small towns Those definitely stood out The author also has these separated by the type of story, so if you don t have any interest in a particular type of story, yo [...]

    7. Who knew a book about haunted bridges would be so interesting What happens after we die is probably one of the most debated topics out there I personally love reading about different theories and find ghosts especially fascinating even though I ve never actually seen one.Haunted Bridges was a great read The book itself is divided into chapters based on the type of haunting which ranges from dead hitchhikers to scary creatures ,or the cause of death such as suicides, lynchings and accidents In ea [...]

    8. Everyone has heard a story about a haunted bridge in your hometown A friend of a friend went over a bridge on a dark country road and encountered a ghost This book chronicles over 300 bridges across the U.S.It s a non fiction book so none of the stories are particularly scary There are the classic tales of Crybaby Bridge and stories about a woman and the tragic death of her child It seems like almost every state has a Crybaby Bridge I live in Dover, Delaware and this book listed three bridges th [...]

    9. Book Review originally published here iheartreading reviews When I started reading Haunted Bridges, I was really curious I had thought the book would tell stories of the hauntings related to the bridges, focus on the background history of the bridge, tell readers the location of the bridge, and ideally also provide some witness accounts, or the author s first hand experiences.Uhm, not so much First, the book is really quite ambitious It focuses on than 300 bridges, but only shares a page at mos [...]

    10. Would you think that there are over 300 haunted bridges I knew there were some but never that many His haunted bridges are discussed as to what he discovered about each bridge the history of the bridge s story, how hard or easy it is to find the bridge and gives warnings if it is on private land or that the bridge is being used daily by traffic rather than occasionally or not at all He has divided the bridges up by what type of haunted bridge is For example, some haunted bridges became haunted d [...]

    11. I kindly received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoy a good ghost story Unfortunately, what this book didn t deliver is that a good ghost story While the author did an admirable job trying to talk about a lot of America s bridges, the book to me lacked something And, after reading some 300 pages, I truly wish I could put my finger on what exactly I found lacking The book just didn t have a soul It had words on the page and it really enjoyed repeating the war [...]

    12. I love ghost stories, and this book didn t disappoint, in that it was filled with them I kind of wish the author had presented fewer stories, in detail I liked the layout, with each type of haunting receiving its own chapter, ie hangings lynchings, suicide bridges, crime scenes, etc But there s only a short snippet about each bridge and the location The book actually seems like a haunted tour guide, encouraging the reader to go see the sites for themselves The layout made it easy for me to put [...]

    13. I ve got this book from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review I am very attracted to mystical and paranormal things, so I was very happy to read this book However I was absolutely disappointed Every paragraph was the same story, just with a different bridge name After few chapters it was enough for me to read first paragraph to know what it all be about I wish there were witness testimony, also that every story were researched Because now it was just like this and that bridge is haunted, b [...]

    14. This book is sort of a guidebook for those wanting to visit haunted bridges for their own ghostly encounter The book is divided into chapters by the types of hauntings and gives a brief description of each Included is information if the bridge is safe to cross or just visit from afar and the facts of each bridge according to verifiable information The back index makes it easy to plan your ghost hunting trip by state Would be a good addition to any ghost hunters library.I was given an advanced ec [...]

    15. Thank you NetGalley and Llewellyn Publications for an ARC of this book The title says it all I enjoy bridges, especially those with some history, and I like creepy things yes, I m odd like that I felt this was realistic, not trying to create ghost stories where there weren t any, but highlighting places that have a great, interesting history If you think you might seek any of these sites out, this is the book for you.

    16. I received this book via NG in return for an honest review. Will post proper review when I ve finished the book.
