    1. The nitty gritty A fun and quirky look into some very creative minds, with an abundance of unusual monsters, both scary and ridiculous.I m taking a break from my usual novel reviews today in order to tell you about a fantastic new book out tomorrow from Apex Books Author Shawn Pryor has joined forces with artists Tressina Bowling and Justin Stewart to bring us a fictional field guide or is it , full of monsters from the state of Kentucky According to , the definition of kaiju is strange beast Pi [...]

    2. I was given a review copy of this book.Kentucky Kaiju is an unbelievably fun read It s sort of a mix between Dungeons and Dragons monster manual and a field guide on bird watching The artwork by Stewart and Bowling is brilliant The monsters are equal parts scary and hilarious The book is pretty long and filled with all kinds of creatures that roam the Kentucky countryside The companion text by Pryor is a real highlight It s equal parts taxonomy, mythology and backstory s that put Godzilla to sha [...]

    3. This is a cute book for lovers of horror and humor alike It consists of two dozen or so descriptions of various kaiju who have taken up residence in Kentucky We don t know why they live in Kentucky, but who cares When you have giant monsters who have been created by irradiated moonshine, why ask why Each entry includes approximate height, weight, and locale information as well as an artistic representation of the creature I m not going to lie, I laughed out loud than once while reading this I d [...]

    4. This little book is everything I love It s super local, it s giant monsters, it s good art, and it s fun I couldn t ask for anything .

    5. I received a copy of this as an ebook from librarything s earlyreviewers group in return for an honest review This book is basically a little encyclopedia of Kentucky Kaiju The creatures and descriptions in this book are fictional It would be nice if the introduction clarified whether any were based on local urban legend within the state of Kentucky It could also use a brief description of what a Kaiju is since not all readers may be familiar with the term The basis is fun and creative though Th [...]

    6. Most of the complaints by reviewers for this book were that the creatures were not based on local lore I think Kentucky Kaiju was chosen as a catchy title It would have been nice if it had been based on local lore although familiar with Kentucky I am not familiar with any legends from there , but since it says Kaiju in the title it is pretty clear what you are getting before you start reading The reading is mildly amusing, so when there is word play, but I do agree with most reviewers that the [...]

    7. The reviewer of this book is the resident 12 year old, who is the household s biggest kaiju expert and fan A good book with some nice art, there was no story but it did not need one I can recommend this book to anyone who likes a cool monster or two and there seems to be a lot of effort put into it For humour the creatures like GALLUSBOMB and GRANICULOUS SMITHACRUX are both pretty funny although every one of them is funny really My overall favorite would have to be CERVIDEATH by sheer looks alon [...]

    8. This book is an amazing combination between KY s facts and imaginative powers It is like aguidebook to KY wildlife in a parallel universe.I love the cool cover and monster illustrations in the book which are very creative and well matched with each of their stories It would also be nice if the illustrations are wholly or just partly coloured maybe on the kaijus dominantparts I received a free digital copy of this book.

    9. Five stars to three artists for putting together a collection of amazing ink drawings of fantasy beasts, from mutated common animals and minerals The humorous descriptions along with their locations in Kentucky will be appreciated by residents and non residents A book to be thumbed through and shared often with all ages of readers.
