    1. As we approach Halloween, what could be better than a collection of short horror tales to set the mood DEADMAN S TOME FINAL CONTACT showcases the talents of several Indie authors at their dark and creative best From ominous sounding titles like A SLOW DEATH to mysterious titles likeA HIDDEN LAYER to a rather unique title like THE OCTOPUS IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM there isn t a story in this collection that doesn t have that necessary hook to draw readers in Can you imagine being left alone with [...]

So, I do have a short story in this one, but I m judging the other stories There are 8 space horror type short stories in this book I have to say the one from Madeleine Swann was my favorite It was weird and cool, which I m all about They were all different, yet they all brought out different versions of scifi

    4. Great collection of sci fi horror stories, perfect for fans of the genre A Hidden Layer by Candace Robinson was my favorite by far, she is such a fantastic writer and readers need to read her work A great handshake to all of the other talented authors as well, but Candace is the star and standout here Maybe re read in the end of October D

    5. So this is an anthology of short Sci Fi stories that are pretty dang creepy As the book summary says the stories warn of the consequences of bold exploration, exploitative mining, venturing too far, and contact with foreign entities And first contact is NOTHING like E.T in these stories I really had fun reading them, of course some I enjoyed than others, but overall this book was a lot of creepy, sci fi fun I ll mention a few of my favorites, I guess Here s my very favorites A Slow Death by Jam [...]

    6. This is the first Short Story box set I have read, and I am glad that I did It was nice to be able to cycle through the stories quickly and get sucked right into the next one There were a couple stories that I didn t like in here, but the rest of them I devoured and very much enjoyed I spent the night trying to figure out which one would be my favorite, but I really can t decide All of these stories are set in space, or a space type environment with a horror type of twist to them Not my usual re [...]

    7. Well written sci fi thrillers that will keep you awake long past bedtime Eight short stories are included, some will have you checking behind you In A Layer Hidden, Candace Robinson shows that people should not be too comfortable in their home In A Slow Death, you will feel sorry for entity, even though it is never totally clear who or what it is Anyone who likes aliens will eat this collection up

    12. This alien themed sci fi collection can be read in one sitting Great for readers wanting something light A couple of the standout stories for me had clever twists or imaginative imagery Candace Robinson has some eerie parent child moments in her alien take over story Madeleine Swann takes a Body Snatchers idea and modernizes it with a commentary on our culture s consumerism, which is extremely unnerving and yet amusing DJ Tyrer mixes nightmares with reality, a relatable concept Kristofer Velasqu [...]

A collection of short stories that is perfect for any reader looking for some eerie nights before Halloween is upon us A Hidden Layer by Candace Robinson captures all the right moments between sci fi and horror, as she masterfully blends the two genres, as we experience the horrors Bree does with her family, Will and Kattie I would recommend Candace s work to anyone who is looking for their next addicting read

    15. This was a great collection of space related horror short stories I enjoyed each story and ended up reading the entire book in one sitting This was a quick read, but I felt like each story was a good length and complete As someone with an irrational maybe fear of aliens, I was definitely creeped out reading this Some of the stories were set in space, some on other planets and some right here on Earth Let s just say I won t be going camping in California any time soon I voluntarily read a complim [...]

True Rating 3.5 stars Deadman s Tome Final Contact is a collection of eight short stories that all fit nicely into the science fiction genre Each story is independent of each other but share the common theme of finality For a sampling of what to expect you can look forward to space exploration, aggressive aliens, asteroid mining, wormholes, children being used as vessels, alien octopods, and echoes of a past revisited As you can see there is a wide variety of elements that can appeal to almost a [...]

I checked this compilation out, mostly to read the short story A Layer Hidden by Candace Robinson I read several and was pleasantly surprised by a couple of them Sci fi is certainly not my genre of choice but I always enjoy Candace s whit and keen ability to make any gruesome story a little bit fun loving She always makes it so hard to dislike the villain I also enjoyed The Octopus In The Corner of the Room by Madeleine Swann It was a good story line even with the sci fi element Both are wins f [...]

    19. So far, this review is only for Candace Robinson s story A Layer Hidden This is a very quick story, and I would ve loved for it to be longer, but I did enjoy it It s an interesting story about a family that is traveling in space to settle on a new planet, but things don t quite go as planned on the journey Candace Robinson does a good job of creating a scene, and I enjoyed the characters Entertaining read.
